Influence of WWI on the World LC

From my understanding, WWI a global war started in Europe. A for year war that ended very tragically and ended 4 Empires had many health and economic effects.  With millions dead, and seriously injured, these nations involved were able to come to a compromise and France being the major nation involved was able to come up with peace treaties regarding the central powers finally ending the long war between the countries.

All-Consuming Emotions

I think Mary Maloney does not have a mental illness. She was upset at the fact her husband was leaving her, and she was being so nice to him after he just told her this horrible news. Then after he tells her the news, she still keeps her cool and wants to make him something to eat and act like nothing happened. Her husband, Patrick, did not want to pretend that everything was alright and announced that he was “going out”. So her emotions completely consumed her. Maybe didn’t think she would kill him, but I believe it was an instant reaction and that was the closet item she had near her. She was so upset and just hit him with the leg of lamb. It is kind of crazy that she killed him and continued on with her day. By going to the grocery store, coming back home, and playing as if she were coming home to find her husband dead, she knew what she was doing.  She made it look like someone else killed him; she knew she did something wrong because she asked her self what would happen to a wife of a police detective that has committed a murder to her own detective husband. She did what she had to do which was to plot and plan to keep her out of trouble.

Mary Maloney: Murderer

Mary Maloney was the perfect housewife, she clean the house everything was always neat, she cooked dinner always before her tired husband got home because she didn’t want her husband to be bother about anything, and she also always stand quietly all of the little and the big issues of regular couples, she would never allow that to threaten her marriage.

She loved her husband; she was always so pleasant, always so submissive and always so willing. Mary Maloney couldn’t handle the disappointment, she didn’t meant any harm, maybe to punish him, teach him a lesson, but to never harm the one she loved.

Mary Maloney murdered Patrick, she loved him, he knew. He didn’t care, he promised to care about her, and he promised she would never miss anything, but he forgot how much she loved him.

Mary Maloney need it to move on, to look forward, she had a whole life in front of her and a child to rise happy. She would make sure he never misses anything; after all she loved his baby’s father.

Mary Maloney always certain, always strong and brave.

Not Crazy!

I think Mary Maloney is not crazy. Why? Because she was laughing and she put on make-up after she killed him. I think she was just trying to cover up her tracks by going to the store and acting like if it was just any other day. Who wouldn’t want to cover-up a murder they just committed? Especially back in those days, women didn’t have as many rights as men did, and she was a detective’s wife. She was also thinking about what would have happened to her unborn baby. Would they kill her and her baby? Would they wait for her to have her baby? With all these questions running through her head, I think she did the perfect cover-up; she had his friends eat the murder weapon – the leg of lamb. Without the weapon to connect her to the crime, how would they have convicted her? I think her pregnancy also played a huge role; one minute they are the most joyful people in the world, and then the next they are on a murder rampage . I think she played it smart!

I do think that Mary Maloney has a mental illness because clearly the lady is 6 months pregnant and just killed her husband because he didn’t want to be with her anymore. It seemed like Patrick wanted to move on because he stated,
“And I know it’s a tough time to be telling you this, but there simply wasn’t any other way.” That clearly made her mad due to the fact that she was pregnant with his child and he wanted out. One thing for sure, Mary does have a mental illness because of the way she pulled that murder off. Then Mary laughed about it, so it is insane. Now I see why he wanted out, she probably gave him a reason to. For example, Mary might’ve tried to kill him in the past. The reasons stated above clearly shows that Mary might’ve had a mental illness.

Summary:

 

General Alexander Samsonov was known to be the leader of one of the most rigorous battles, Battle of Tannenburg. I choose this song because I felt like it was a song to get hyped for the fight, and it shows strength and confidence. The Russians had a lot of courage fighting this battle, so I felt like this song would fit the mood.
